Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryETHEL ROBINOVITCH After a lengthy illness, on Saturday, January 20, 2001, Ethel Robinovitch passed away quietly at home with her children at her side. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 22 at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. Beloved and devoted wife of the late Jack Robinovitch, she is survived by her son Sid Robinovitch, daughter and son-in-law Lynne and Sonny Walters of Toronto, grandchildren Craig Walters, Andrea Walters, and Lewis Robinovitch, and great-grandchildren Jayden and Jonah Walters. Ethel was born in St. Thomas, Ontario and as a young girl her family, consisting of parents, Sarah and Lewis Pollock, brothers Hy, Rube, and Shiekie, and sister Anne, settled in Biggar, SK. They moved to Saskatoon when Ethel was in her teens and she remained there until marrying Jack Robinovitch, who was from Brandon, MB, in 1935. The couple lived in Brandon, raising their children, and taking part in community life until moving to Winnipeg in 1955. Jack passed away in 1994. Ethel was a beautiful and vibrant woman. She loved to sing, often entertaining at community sing-songs and at family weddings. She also loved a good game of cards, spending many happy afternoons with her friends playing bridge and canasta. She was a wonderful cook, loved flowers, and always had a youthful air about her. Over the last year when her activities were seriously curtailed, she never complained and was a source of joy to her devoted care-givers. She exuded a quiet dignity right to the end. We will always cherish our memories of her. Shiva will be observed at her residence (323 Wellington Cres., Apt. 505) until Saturday night. If desired, donations in Ethels name may be made to the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue Music and Youth Library Fund (Phone: 452-3711).
