CHARLES WILSON With a heavy heart and great sadness, we mourn the death of Charles Wilson, beloved husband to Lydia Wilson for more than sixty-one years. Charles leaves to mourn, his three children: Lorne and Ruth Wilson of Sandy Hook, MB, Donna Ruppel of Jacksonville, Florida and Murray Wilson of Winnipeg; grandchildren: Tracey Ruppel, Ind Jianapolis, Indiana, Darcy and Mike Pauken, Pasadena, California, Quinn anden Wilson, Winnipeg, Holly and Fiance Chris Clarkee, Winnipg and Paige Wilson, Winnipeg; great-grandchildren: Victor Pauken and Frances Pauken. Charles was born in Tisdale, Sask., to William and Elizabeth Wilson of Edinburgh, Scotland. When he was a child in 1922, he moved with his family to Winnipeg. In 1939 he married Lydia Weitzel. He was employed with Eatons for forty years and was a lifetime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Winnipeg. Grandpa Charlie, as he was affectionately known to his family and many others, was Grandpa in the truest sense of the word. Many fishing trips, hours of story telling and backyard Bar-B-Qs, all shared with his adoring grandchildren. Grandpa Charlie was famous for his Christmas Candy Canes, which came to be enjoyed by many friends and family for generations. Charles Wilson, will be remembered as a true gentleman, as a loving and devoted husband and as a warm, caring and generous father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Cremation had taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2001 at 2:00 PM at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Pastor Jan Pastucha officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Building Fund, 2528 King Edward St., Wpg., R2R 2R2.
