ROBERT (BOB) HEWITT SARGENT On January 22, 2001, at the Deer Lodge Centre, Robert Hewitt Sargent, dearly beloved husband of Christina, passed away at the age of 75 years. Bob was born in Winnipeg on March 4, 1925. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. Bob worked at the Winnipeg General Post Office for 40 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the I.O.F. (Forresters) and was the founder of the Winnipeg Post Office Fishing Club. Bob loved his fishing trips with the Post Office and was liked by all who knew and met him. Bob is survived by his loving wife Christina of 48 years; children, Ellen Tachauer (Joe) in Stratford, ON, Sheila Sargent (Real) in Ste. Anne, MB, Gordon Sargent (Carmelle) in Winnipeg; two grandchildren, Ian and Lisa Tachauer; and a sister Myrtle Miller. In keeping with Roberts wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held. The family would like to express their thanks to all the staff on 6th floor West, Deer Lodge Centre, for the care he was given during his stay.
