REVEREND STANLEY MILLAR Padre Stan died on Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at the Grace Hospital. His death was caused by complications due to cancer. With the support of some like-minded persons, Padre Stan founded the Big Brothers Association of Winnipeg in 1969. He was also sometime Padre to the Royal Canadian Legion, the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans, the White Ensign Club in H.M.C.S. CHIPPAWA, the Shriners of Khartum Temple in Winnipeg and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. His wife Jean and his son died in 1993 and 1996 respectively. Funeral service for Padre Stan will be held on Monday, January 29, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. in the Maranatha Evangelical Free Church, 910 Sturgeon Road (north of Ness on the west side). The Rev. Dr. David Lewycky will officiate and various service and fraternal organizations will participate. No flowers please. The Legion wreath is sufficient but donations in Padre Stans memory would surely be appreciated by your favourite charities.
