JOHN GURMAN Suddenly on January 23, 2001, John Gurman, of Arbakka, went to his eternal rest. John Gurman was born in Arbakka, Man., on October 19, 1925, to John and Pearl Gurman. John worked in the gold mines in Cochenour, Ont., from 1946 to 1954. In 1949 John married Olga Kostyniuk. They moved to their farm in Arbakka in 1956 where they raised four children and Hereford cattle. Johns loves were his family, friends, cattle, horses, and watching things grow. John always had a good story to tell, the door always open, pie and coffee always on. John never retired, farming was his life. His kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. He is survived by his loving wife Olga. Besides his wife of 51 years, he will be dearly missed by his children, Susan Gurman (Ted), Jennifer (John) Peterson, Janet (Brian) Nedohin and Ken (Michele) Gurman and his grandchildren, Dawn, Erin and Gwen Nedohin, Amber and Crystal Peterson and Kendra and Dylan Gurman. He also leaves to mourn his sisters, Mary and Lillian and his brother Jarvis, numerous nieces and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bill and Henry and sister Olga. Prayers will be said on January 26, 7:00 p.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel, followed by funeral service on January 27, 11:00 a.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel, #12 Hwy., S., Steinbach, with Rev. Fr. Michael Skrumeda officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Nickolas Ukrainian Orthodox cemetery at Arbakka. Many thanks to Dr. Azar and all the staff at Vita Hospital for their kind help and support. They made him feel special and well looked after. John will remain in our hearts forever.
