GORDON W. BARBOUR Peacefully on January 24, 2001 at Red River Place in Selkirk, Gordon W. Barbour passed away at the age of 97. He was predeceased by his wife Mildred on February 8, 1977; mother Sarah (1934) father James (1961) brother Wallace (1925) and sister Marion (1992). Left to cherish his memory are son James (Jane) of St. Andrews; grandson Justin (Janice) of St. Albert; Justins mother Carol; sister Alice Emes of Fort Frances and her family of Fort Frances and Dryden, ON and sister-in-law Jean Tidsbury of Portage la Prairie. Gordon spent many years farming on the original homestead in Balmoral. In 1958 he began work with the Provincial Assessment Branch retiring in December 1968. His retirement years were spent working in his yard and garden at Balmoral a hobby that won him numerous awards over the years. Gordon was a life-long member of the I.O.O.F., Stonewall branch and a staunch supporter of community projects in Balmoral. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. Ken Anstie will officiate. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Stonewall Hospital and Red River Place for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the C.N.I.B. or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
