VERA MAE PERRY (nee WELLAR) With great sadness, the family of Vera Perry wish to announce her peaceful death on Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Left to cherish Veras memory are her son William (Bill) daughter Lynda and son-in-law (Schoel) Shuster; sisters, Pearl Jefferson, Violet Whitehead and Janet Hinks; granddaughters, Tara and Sonya and many nieces, nephews and friends, especially niece Lorna and Vern Frazer. Vera was predeceased by her husband Thomas (Tom) Perry; sisters, Lucy Robertson and Edith Le Gier and brothers, Lloyd, Lonny and Alex Wellar. Vera was born in Strathclair, Manitoba May 29, 1921 and lived in St. Boniface and St. Vital through her adult life. Vera worked for many years at National Trust on Portage Avenue and at MacMillan Bathurst. She was also a Meals on Wheels volunteer, loved to play bridge and was an avid dancer. Cremation has already taken place. A service celebrating Veras Life will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive. Rev. Don Lawrence officiating. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. S. Kredenster and Dr. Shojania for their attentive care during her struggle with multiple myeloma and her last year of suffering with shingles. We would also like to express our gratitude to the wonderful staff at St. Boniface Hospital who treated her so kindly and the home care staff who supported her with care and kindness.
