MARY FORTNAM On January 22, 2001, Mary Fortnam peacefully passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 78 years. She was born in Ashington Northumberland, England, on March 25, 1922. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her husband Sidney A. Fortnam; her two sons, Brian and Raymond Fortnam; daughter-in-law Joanne Fortnam; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Ashington, England, and Winnipeg; many family members in England; and special friend Joan Skelton. Mary and Sidney served in the English Army with the Heavy Anti-Aircraft Artillery during the Second World War. Mary loved gardening, especially her flower gardens, and knitting, which she gave to family. Marys family was important to her, those here and in England, whom she missed very much. Many thanks to the staff at the Grace Hospital who took care of Mary Fortnam. Memorial services will take place Monday, January 29, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 1400 Pembina Highway, with Reverend Karl Koslowsky officiating.
