Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD JOHN HIGGS Edward went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, on Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at the age of 80 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife Marion in 1989. Edward will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his sons, Peter (Janet) and Bruce; his daughter Janet; grandchildren, Valerie Hill (Erron), Corey and Brent. He served in the armed forces during the Second World War and in the army reserves for many years after. He was a longtime resident of Montreal, where he worked for the Department of National Defence for over 30 years. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 125 in Montreal North. The family wishes to thank the staff of Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home for their care and compassion during Edwards stay. A very special thank you to Pastor Mark Hughes for leading him to the Lord. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, January 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Church of the Rock, 2211 Pembina Hwy. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Edwards memory to Church of the Rock, 2211 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2H1.
