Sorry to hear of your loss. I am wondering if Walter was a distant relative. My Father was Dudley Walter Meakin (son of Howard Meakin Sr. and my great uncle was Walter Geoghegan. My grandmother was Eileen Geoghegan of Dublin Ireland. My grandmother and sister (Miss Geoghegan) cleared the land & started the girls school in Duncan BC and it is still in operation today known as Queen Marguerites. Our daughter Michelle of Victoria went there. My grandfathers cousin was a well known lawyer in Nanaimo. My grandfather, father Dudley Walter Meakin (both deceased) and myself have been in the real estate business in Vancouver since 1912. My grandfather is from Burton on Trent England and his family were part of the Burton Brewers which had interests in England, India and East Africa as well as being Potters in Stoke on Trent. If you share any of the above family history, love to hear from you! Cheers, Howard Meakin 604-230-5650 - Posted by: Howard Meakin (?) on: Feb 05, 2021
