Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL HOROBEC With great sadness we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, brother and uncle, Paul Horobec, who was called to walk into the arms of the Lord on January 25, 2001, suddenly at the age of 60. Paul was born on December 8, 1940, in Calineto where he resided on his farm till his passing. Paul was blessed with a wonderful marriage to wife of 38 years, Diane that is left to mourn his passing. He leaves behind two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and husband Hans Kolano and Karen and husband Ron Zuke. He held a special place in his heart for his sisters and brothers, Marko (Lena) Koshelanyk, Joe (Bella) Koshelanyk, Pete (Helen) Horobec, Mike Horobec, John Horobec, Marie (Kasmir) Dziedzic, Ann (Lawrence) Ogrodnik, Stella Wilson and sister-in-law Anne Horobec. Paul was predeceased by his parents Michael and Helen Horobec; brothers, Ostap, Walter, Bill and brother-in-law Ansley Wilson. Paul lived all his 60 years on his farm in Caliento. He took great pride in whatever his endeavours were. He served as the president of St. Johns Catholic Church for numerous years. He also served as a councillor with the municipality of Stuartburn for two terms. Paul enjoyed socializing, Ukrainian music and what he would call his holiday--fall hunting season. His store brought him close with the community he enjoyed and viewed his customers as his friends also. Paul was a tough man with a big heart, and those who knew him understand why we will miss him so much. Paul lived the life he always wanted to lead, and when told to slow down he never complained; he just told us he was happy. Heaven must have lots of work for him to do and Im sure he will look after us always. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 30, 10:30 a.m. at St. Johns Catholic Church in Caliento. Interment at the Parish Cemetery. Prayers will be said Monday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with viewing from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. Donations in Pauls memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and to the St. Johns Catholic Church.
