RUSSELL ALEXANDER CHESTER Russell Alexander Chester passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2001, at the St. Boniface Hospital. Russ is survived by sons, Bob (Kathy), Rick (Jude), Karl Taulien (Helen), Gerry (Amy), Miles (Alice) many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Russ was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Yvonne whom he cherished, held dearly and missed much the last two years. Dad served in the Canadian Armed Forces shortly after the Second World War and then worked at Coca Cola for 37 years. He enjoyed working in the great outdoors for Provincial Parks at the Big Whiteshell until 1992 at which time he retired. He was an active member or F.O.E. Aerie #23 and Golden Eagle Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed curling which he did at the Eagle Mens Curling Club for over 35 years. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. The family wishes to give special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital as well as all the wonderful staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg Man., R3E 0V9.
