Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKLAUS HEINZ WEISS With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear father, Opa, brother, uncle and friend, Klaus Heinz Weiss on Friday, January 26, 2001 at the age of 74 years. He was predeceased by his wife Lillian in 1997. Klaus will be lovingly remembered by his son Walter and daughter-in-law Ruth; grandchildren, Ryan and Carolyn; son Harold; sister Erika and brother-in-law Heinz Trinoga of Germany and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Klaus was born on January 7, 1927 in Bochum, Germany. He apprenticed in ornamental plastering and achieved the grade of Master Plasterer in Germany. He met his wife after the war while she was working as a translator for the American Military Government. They were married on December 20, 1947 in Kulmbach, Germany. Their marriage produced two sons. In 1951, Klaus, Lillian and Walter immigrated to Canada. In Canada, Klaus continued with his career in plastering, eventually owning his own business. Klaus was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hiking and camping. Another great life-long love was singing. He was a member of the German Canadian Choir in Winnipeg for almost 40 years. At any gathering, wedding, or social, it didnt take much to convince him to take the microphone and lead everyone in singing which usually led to yodelling. In later years, one of his favourite pastimes was swimming in the condo pool with his grandchildren. Klaus also enjoyed people. He could strike up a conversation with complete strangers, any time, any place. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 200 Dalhousie, Fort Garry with Pastor Ed Mitchler officiating. Interment will take place before the service. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made in Klaus memory to the Epiphany Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 200 Dalhousie Street, Winnipeg, R3T 2Z1 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald Street. Klaus will always be remembered for his joy of life and love for his family. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
