LEO NADEAU January 7, 1944 - January 27, 2001 After a long courageous battle with cancer, Leo passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 27, 2001, at the age of 57 years. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Therese; his children, Gerald (Gisele), Nicole (friend Richard Frechette), and Philippe. He also leaves his precious granddaughters, Stephanie and Danika. Mourning his loss are his brothers and sisters, Rene (Berthe), Eva (Richard Labossiere), Henri, Fernand (Claire), Paulette (friend Gilles Pilon) and his wifes family, Yvette (Leo Morin), Marc Bazin, Donat (Pauline) Labossiere, Norma (Maurice Trudel) and Gisele (Marcel Durupt) numerous nephews, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Alphonse and Emma; two siblings, Raymond and Marie in infancy; also by his mother and father-in-law, Cecilia and Cyprien Labossiere; and his sister-in-law Bella Bazin. Leo was known and loved for his positive attitude and friendly nature. Born and raised in Somerset, MB, he was proud of his culture and heritage. Always hard working and dedicated, he worked for over 32 years at CN Rail where he made numerous friends. His greatest joy was his wife and family to to whom he dedicated his life. He was the heart of family gatherings and his love, enthusiasm and energy will forever remain in our hearts. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the caring and compassionate staff in Oncology and Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital. The funeral mass will be held at Sts-Martyrs-Canadiens Roman Catholic Church, 289 Dussault, on Wednesday, January 31 at 10:30 a.m. A eulogy gathering will take place prior to the funeral mass at 10:15 a.m. Reception to follow immediately after the service in the church hall. According to Leos wishes, a private family interment of his cremated remains will take place at a later date in the Somerset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leos memory to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Station Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
