Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARCELLINE (LABONNE) DESJARLAIS (nee DUCHARME) After a lengthy illness, Marcelline passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2001 at St. Josephs Residence. Born in St. Laurent, MB, on January 16, 1917 to Jeremie and Virginie Ducharme, where she called home until her illness. She was married to Patrice Desjarlais for 63 years, who passed away in February 1999. Cherishing her memory are her children, Shirley (Lenard) Bruce of Red Deer, AB, Myrna (Clarence) Dumont of High Prairie, AB, Winnie (Wayne) and Brian (Claudette) of St. Laurent, Ken(Brenda) of Winnipeg, Jeff (Cora) of Calgary, AB; her siblings, David (Alice), Marie (Wally) Buechler, Tom (Lorraine), Emile (Margaret), and Veronique Lavallee, all of Winnipeg; 27 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Rose Boudreau and Exilia Chaboyer; brothers-in-law, Harvey and Eugene; also numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter Eileen; grandchildren, Francine and Warren; brothers, Etienne and Harvey; and sister Winnie. Marcelline or "Labonne" as she was known by everyone, touched a lot of people with her winning smile and good heartedness. You would never go hungry if you stopped to visit. Her greatest joy was playing cards, especially "Old Maid" with the little ones. Whenever you needed guidance she was there to listen and to tell you to pray for strength. Her life was her family and her spirit will live on in all of us. Prayers will be held on Friday, February 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 3 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Laurent, with interment to follow. Special thanks to the staff at St. Josephs Residence for the kindness and good care that they gave over the years.
