Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON ANDREW PEARSON "GORDIE" 1924-2001 The family of Gordon Andrew Pearson is sad to announce the sudden death at home, Sunday, January 28, 2001. Left to mourn are his wife Audrey; two daughters and one son, Karin (and Bill) Schoppe of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, Verla (and Alan) Forbes of Winnipeg, Gary (and Melanie) of Newmarket, Ont.; three grandchildren, Jenna of Winnipeg, Aaron and Kira of Newmarket. He is also survived by his sisters, Marian (and Tony) Wyenberg of Winnipeg, Louise (and Bill) Corbett of Penticton, BC; his sister-in-law Violet Giles of Winnipeg; and several nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by a brother Neil, in infancy; his parents, Nils and Esther Pearson; and his much loved parents-in-law, Henry and Ellen Pehrson. Gordon was born and educated in Elmwood and spent a few months in both the airforce and army just prior to the end of the war in 1945. He was employed by Winnipeg Land Titles office from 1946-52; and with the Gulf Oil Company until 1972. He then joined Block Brothers Realty and enjoyed a successful career in real estate until his retirement in 1992. Gordon was a lifelong member of St. Marks Lutheran Church (previously known as the Swedish Lutheran Church) a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge; and active for several years with the Sylvia Recreational Co. (Vasalund) in Charleswood. In the true sense of the word "gentleman", Gordon was a kind, generous and gentle man who lived his life for his family and friends. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Both Gordon and Audrey were proud of their Scandinavian heritage and "Christmas Eve" at their home has been a family tradition for many years. "Gordies" December 22 birth-date seemed all the more special because of the Christmas Season -- and good cause for one more family dinner and celebration!! Audrey, Karin, Verla and Gary will be forever thankful for two very special people in their lives - Marian and Tony - who were an endless source of love and support during the last few months. The Pearson family also wish to express their appreciation and gratitude for the compassion and concern shown them by the emergency response personnel at the time of Gordons death. Cremation has taken place and it was Gordons wishes that no service be held. It was also Gordons wish that any remembrance of him be to The Childrens Wish Foundation (Manitoba Chapter), 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3J2.
