LORNA MARGUERITE WALKER R.N. Lorna Walker passed away on January 28, 2001 at the Central Park Lodge Nursing Home, 70 Poseidon Bay after a lengthy illness. Lorna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all the members of her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Glenna and Ed Carpenter and is survived by her brother John and wife Barbara; by her husband Bill; daughter Glenna Lindsay and husband Bob; son Tim and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Cynthia, Kristen and Scott. Lorna graduated from nursing in 1945 from the Port Arthur General Hospital and practised her profession for many years at various institutions in Winnipeg. Lorna was a long-time member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and served on its Provincial Board for seven years. She particularly enjoyed her association with her fellow members, including those in Chapter N and those in the Past-Presidents group. Lorna valued her years with the members of the womens Liberal Association. She was active in its pursuits and made numerous friends in that organization. Music, travel, art, cooking and gardening were among her interests and she read extensively. Lornas family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to the nursing staff and volunteers at Central Park Lodge for their kindly and attentive care of Lorna during the last many years. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 2 at 12:15 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with Rev. Clark Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, R3C 4G2. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
