Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN SHUEL It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of John on Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at Red River Place Personal Care Home in Selkirk, Man. John will be sadly missed by his wife Sophie of 60 years; his children, David (Eileen), Garry (Eleanor) his grandchildren, Kelly Ann (Thom Doherty), Tannis (Colin Knox), James and Derek and great-grandson Brendan Doherty; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his mother and father (Mike and Anne) his brothers, Steve, Fred, Dan; and sister Mary Protosavage. John was born at Cooks Creek, Man. on February 8, 1912. He married Sophie (Marko) on June 2, 1940. Their first home was in Anola, Man. where they tried their hand at farming, moving to Hazelridge in 1951. He began what was to be many years in the garage business (Johnnies Service) and associated farm equipment dealership (Oliver) along with bulk fuel service, retiring in 1976. Prayers will be said on Friday, February 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. E., Beausejour, Man. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3 at 10:30 a.m. also in the Chapel, with Rev. Fr. John Sholdak officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Shuel, Derek Shuel, Thom Doherty, Garry Shuel, David Shuel and Ed Shul. The family wishes to thank Dr. Lindenschmidt of Selkirk Hospital and the staff at Red River Place Personal Care Home for their excellent care and kindness shown to John.
