ISABEL E. ROOT (nee DRINNAN) On January 29th, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Isabel Root, passed away at the age of 94. Isabel was born in the family home in Wawota, Sask. in 1906. She became a teacher and taught from 1933 to 1941. She married Ivan Root in 1941. Isabel was an active member of her church, and a longtime volunteer at Oakview Extendicare before becoming a resident for the past 2 years. Isabel was a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, as well as being active in numerous other organizations. She lived a full and productive life. She was not one to complain, and she was always interested in others, demonstrating love, patience and kindness. Isabel was predeceased by a sister, Hazel; brothers, William, Alec, Wilfred and Ralph; and grandson, Shawn. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Ivan; son, David; daughter, Janice (Wai) grandchildren Sheldon (and his mother Dawn) Megan and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren Jamie and Jessica; as well as many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 2, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive. Interment and reception to follow.
