DONA ELIZABETH KRAWETZ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Wife, Mother and Grandmother, Dona Elizabeth Krawetz (nee Munro). Dona passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2001 at the Ste. Rose General Hospital with family by her side. Dona is survived by husband Fred; son Lindsay (Dianne) daughter Tannis Corfield (Jim) and grandchildren, Lee and Stacey. She was predeceased by father James; mother Amanda; brother Keith and niece Jennifer. Dona was born on November 17, 1928 at home at Bluff Creek, Manitoba. In 1931, the Munro family moved to Amaranth where Dona would complete her Grade 11 and go on to United College for Grade 12. She then went on to Teachers College and attained her Teachers Certificate. Throughout her 33 years of teaching, she taught at Lone Spruce, Falmouth, Glencairn, Amaranth and Alonsa Schools. Her dedication and commitment to her students will be remembered for many generations. She has been regarded as being the best teacher anyone could have had. Dona was a dedicated wife and mother and a very proud grandmother. She spent her retirement doing embroidery and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed watching the birds and flowers growing in the yard, but especially liked taking long drives with Fred looking at the sights of the countryside. Dona had a quiet, mild manner, but was always a tower of strength. She was always a tremendous support for family and friends. Dona was a very gracious and well respected lady and will be missed by many. The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. Loveless and the staff at Ste. Rose General Hospital for their endless compassionate care over the past few months. Funeral service is being held Saturday, February 3, at 11:00 a.m. at the Alonsa Community Hall. Interment at St. Georges Cemetery near Alonsa. Pallbearers are: nephews, Kim Majury, David Munro, Leonard Thompson, friends Fred Pulak and Orlando Oswald and cousin Donald Helgason.
