ELISABETH SCHMIDT On January 30, 2001, at the Victoria Hospital, Elisabeth Schmidt passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the age of 82 years. Elisabeth was born in Neu-Strimba, Romania, on January 28, 1919. She married Gottfried in 1937 and they moved to Canada in 1953. Elisabeth worked for the Municipal Hospitals for over 20 years. Elisabeth will be greatly missed and always remembered by her family and friends. Elisabeth is survived by her husband Gottfried; sons, Fred (Erika) and Art (Barbara) and daughter Abby; brothers, Julius (Friderike) of Germany and Ferdinand (Elisabeth) grandchildren, Johnny (Lorlie) Marschall, Gordon Kopp Jr., Albert Kopp, Martin Schmidt, Paul Kopp, James (Lisa) Schmidt, Philip Kopp, Eric Kopp, Andrew Schmidt, Renate Schmidt and Matthew Schmidt and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter Lilly Marschall, brother Oscar Nunweiler and son-in-law Gordon Kopp. Viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 4 at Bardal Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 5 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut St., with Pastor Hemo Bachmeyer officiating. Interment Brookside Cemetery.
