INGIBJORG SIGRIDUR MARGARET (EMMA) OLAFSON (nee SIGURDUR) Emma passed away peacefully on January 30, 2001 in the hospital in Eriksdale, MB. Emma was born on March 6, 1906 in Langruth, MB to Nellie and Barney Sigurdur. In March of 1939 she married Einar Olafson. In the Crane River district they raised their family, Gudmundur (Mundi) and Ellen, and ranched until Einars death in 1963. Emma and her family then continued their love of ranching until 1986 when they moved to Lundar. Emma was devoted to her family and this sense of devotion extended to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Ellen, and her sister Bella Swenson of B.C. along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Einar, and her son Mundi. Also five sisters, Hannah Reid, Martha Hart, Bertha Evans, Dora Murray and sister Martha in infancy, along with three brothers, Joe, Earl and Stoney. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3 in the Lundar Lutheran Church with Rev. Donna J. Smalley officiating. Interment to follow in the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harland Beckman, Allan Arnason, Alfred Morriseau, Darcy Mason, Ken Mason and Einar Sigurdson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5.
