MARGARET HELEN FAWCETT On February 1, 2001, Margaret Helen Fawcett, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 76 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Margaret was born July 14, 1924 and grew up in Winnipeg. At a very early age she married her childhood sweetheart and best friend Doug, September 1, 1941 and they had been married for many years until his passing in 1997. She had been employed with the Health Sciences Centre till her retirement in 1984. After their retirement, they spent most of their time travelling throughout North America and enjoying their shared passion of fishing. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, William and Grace Blake; son Gerald and her husband Doug. In the last few years Margaret devoted her time to her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all. Surviving Margaret are her sons, Roy (Marge), Bill (Lona), Dave (Wendy), Bob and daughter-in-law Diana; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; sister Ethel (Maurice) Strong; brother Jim (Martha) Blake and sister-in-law Audrey (Frank) Carter. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at the St. Boniface Hospital 7A Ward for their kind and compassionate care. Special thanks to Moms neighbours/friends Al and Marlene for all that they have done for our parents over the years. Mom may your reunion with Dad be the happiest time for you, we will always love you and we will miss you dearly, but we know that you are happiest when youre together. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 6 at 5:00 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapel, 669 Broadway. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call at the Chapel on Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation.
