EDWARD GORE SINCLAIR October 21, 1916 - February 2, 2001 He was 84 and a wonderful man. Ned was born in Stonewall, the son of Harriet (nee Gore) and Edward Sinclair. When Ned was three, the family moved to St. James where he lived the majority of his life. He attended Brittania and Linwood schools. During part of the thirties he rode the rails, and we have been enriched by his recollections. Ned was a seaman in the Merchant Navy during the Second World War. He worked as a delivery driver for the Hudsons Bay Company in the St. James area for 40 years, earning many safe driving recognition awards. Golf was a favourite sport for Ned, beginning with evening rounds after caddying and continuing with morning rounds well into retirement years with his friends. Gardening and horse racing were life long interests. He spent his later years at home, enjoying frequent trips to Vancouver to visit his family. Ned was a genuine free spirit who lived his life with quiet dignity and respect for others. Well miss him dearly. Predeceased by his wife Elsie and sisters, Mary and Anne; he leaves to remember fondly his brother Jack; daughter Nancy; son-in-law John; grandson Jason; nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 6 at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave., at 2:00 p.m. with Canon John Caird officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service. The family extends thanks and appreciation to those involved in Neds care. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends desire a donation in Neds memory may be made to the St. Boniface Research Foundation - Palliative Endowment Fund, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R2H 2A6.
