Don was the loving husband of Vi; devoted Dad to Lesley, Scott and Christine (Tine) Gampy to Kyle, Austin and Marnie; father-in-law to Hugh Bergman, Bernie Leaney and Hugh Ross; brother to Barbara (Bobbie) McLenaghen and Uncle Don to Jim, John and Joanne. Don started his career in real estate in Thunder Bay, Ont., and moved to Winnipeg in 1954. Don met Vi on the ski slopes in Thunder Bay and imbued his passion for skiing to his family. They were married in Thunder Bay in 1952. Many of Dons most enjoyable moments were spent with his family and friends at Clearwater Bay. Most of all, Don relished his family gatherings. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren who will always be inspired by his warmth, integrity and love. Don was a proud member of the Manitoba Club and the Winnipeg Winter Club. In the true sense of the word "gentleman," Don was a kind, generous and gentle man who lived his life for his family and friends. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 6 at 11:00 a.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. TO DAD How fortunate you were our Father, your inspiration and guidance will always be with us. You taught us right from wrong and how to enjoy every day to its fullest. You worked so hard to clothe and feed us, Asking so very little in return. You always had that special answer, story or joke that always touched our hearts. We will truly miss you Dad. Thank you so much for all the wonderful memories. May God care for you as you did for us. Again Thanks. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
