VINCENT E. BARIBEAU With sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Vincent, aged 86, on November 30, 2000, at his home in Ennismore, Ont. He was predeceased by his wife Gertrude; his parents Joseph and Daisy; sisters, Margaret Sereda, Dorothy Robbins. He is survived by sons, Raymond (Phyllis) of Bellingham, Washington, U.S.A., Gerard (Judy) of Toronto, Ont.; sister Grace Stewart of Winnipeg; brothers, Paul of Winnipeg, David (Millicent) of Kenora, Ont.; several nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews. Vincent was born in Toronto, Ont., on September 23, 1914, and was raised in Winnipeg. He left to work at a northern Manitoba gold mine at an early age. There he worked on bush planes and mine equipment. On returning to Winnipeg, he worked in his fathers auto repair business. Moving on to Toronto, he worked for various auto dealerships. During the war he was employed by Canadian Airways, overhauling and servicing military aircraft engines for their defence contract. He then established his own auto repair business in Niagara Falls, Ont., and Niagara Falls, New York for a number of years. Subsequently he was engaged as an instructor at Scarborough, Ont., teaching automotive repair and shop practice procedures. Towards the end of his career, he was a sales representative for Sun Co., suppliers of automotive test service equipment. He held a certified master mechanics license for over 60 years. Retiring to the Ennismore area, he soon became the local "Mr. Fix It." He was always willing and found time to help and assist neighbours and friends with their repair problems. The family wishes to thank his neighbours for their kind thoughtfulness and for their care and concern for his welfare. He will be missed by family and friends.
