His passing is mourned by his loving companion of more than 30 years, Lillian Nepinak, his son, Jim (Marilyn) of Headingley and his daughters Mary Margaret of Grand Forks, ND and Penny Fehr (Ed) of Thorhild, AB as well as seven grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and Lillians family; brothers John and Don and his sister Marjorie. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Jean Connor of Vancouver, BC. Rae was born June 25, 1923 in Brandon, MB to Mary and William Pringle. In The Second World War he served in the Canadian Forces Infantry and returned from overseas to graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba. After over 20 years with the Dept. of Health and Welfare, he retired in 1973 to his home in St. James to enjoy his garden and his homing pigeons. Rae enjoyed raising and racing homing pigeons with several local pigeon clubs over a span of 50 years. He was also a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 178. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will gather on Friday, February 9 in The Royal Canadian Legion, St. James Branch, 1755 Portage Ave. from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for a remembrance of a man who was deeply compassionate, always skeptical, never boring and greatly loved by those close to him. Our family would like to thank the Grace Hospital staff who made Raes last weeks comfortable.
