IRENE PATRICIA COX (nee BOYLE) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandmother after a courageous battle with cancer. Pat passed away on February 3, 2001 at the Health Sciences Centre. Pat will be missed by her husband of 51 years, Ronald; her daughter Noreen (Michael) and their children Jeffrey and Laura, and her daughter Patti (Marcel). She is also survived by her brother William (Bill) and sister-in-law Bernice of Estevan, Saskatchewan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by her parents, William and Lenora Boyle and her sister Alice Matheson. Born on September 25, 1924, Pat grew up with her family in Estevan, Saskatchewan. She married Ron in 1949 and spent the years until 1972 residing in many towns and cities across Canada, ultimately settling in Winnipeg where they have remained for 29 years. Mom enjoyed her home and was a devoted and selfless wife, mother and friend. She was particularly fond of the creatures that resided with the family throughout the years but in particular, our most beloved dog "Maggie". Pat and Ron enjoyed their trips to the United States, to England and Wales, and to Halifax to visit Noreen and her family. Most cherished were their winter trips to Palm Springs. Rev. Ted Nimik will join the family to honor Pats memory privately when her urn is place in Holy Angel Mausoleum at Green Acres Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, February 7. A small reception for close friends and family will be held on Thursday, February 8 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the family home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pats memory to the charity of choice. Special thanks to Dr. Latocki, Krepart and Heywood and to the nurses of 5th Floor Womens Pavilion for their care and compassion for Pat and the family over the last months.
