KATHERINE WARKENTIN Passed away peacefully in Winnipeg on February 4, 2001 in her 93rd year. She was predeceased by her husband Gerhard in 1987; her daughter Eleanor Sawatsky in 1982; her sister Bertha Janzen in 1974 and her brother Jacob in 1942 (overseas). Katherine is survived by her son Rudy of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Joanne Van der Ham (Joseph) of Rossland, BC, Maureen Sauer (Peter) of the City of Vaughan, ON, Colleen Trevor (Steven) of Toronto, ON and Paul Warkentin of Winnipeg and great-grandchildren, Andrew and Katie Van der Ham and Sean Trevor. Katherine and Gerhard were happily married for almost 60 years and lived in the Winnipeg area until 1953 at which time they moved to Vancouver, BC. They spent their retiring years in Clearbrook/Abbotsford. A special thanks to Dr. Mould and the staff at Oakview Place for the loving care and compassion shown to Katherine during her 13 year stay. A private family service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home at 4477 Main St. on Wednesday, February 7 at 1:00 p.m. with interment at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Surrey, BC where she will again be with her beloved husband and her parents, Jacob and Susan Epp. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
