DANIEL (DAN) ROMANYSHYN After a brief illness on Wednesday, February 7, 2001 at his home with his beloved wife Irene by his side, Dan, aged 69 years, of Beausejour, MB. Danny was born on June 24, 1931 on the family farm in Seddons Corner, MB. He was employed as an Aircraft Mechanic with the Canadian Armed Forces from 1953 to 1977. In the same year, he began a new career as a bulk milk and freight truck driver with Naaykens Transport Ltd., in Beausejour for 13 years, retiring in 1990 due to his heart condition. In his spare time, Danny loved puttering in his yard, planting flowers, gardening and planting trees with his brother Joe. He loved to sit outside with his pet dog, Tiny, and watch the birds. At night, he liked to listen to the sound of the wolves howling. Danny was an avid bowler for many years and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 132, Beausejour, for ten years. Besides his loving wife Irene of 25 years of marriage, remaining to forever cherish Dannys memory are his children, Jason and Linda, both of Beausejour; two daughters from his first marriage, Linda of Winnipeg and Kelly of Belgium; two grandsons, Johnny and Florimond; sister Nettie Scholz (Norman) brothers, Sam, Alec (Doreen), and Joe (Brenda) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his mom and dad, George and Lena Romanyshyn; and by a son Daniel Jr. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday evening, February 12 at 7:00 p.m., in the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, Park Avenue East, Beausejour, with Rev. Fr. John Sholdak officiating. A private family interment will be held in Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery, Beausejour, at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Dannys memory to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Zeiler and his wife Darlene and staff, as well as to Lucille Chay and Cheryl Smith from Home Care. "I have a place in Heaven, please dont sing sad songs for me. Forget your grief and fears, for I am in a perfect place, away from pain and tears...I have a place in Heaven, with the Master at my side. My life on earth was very good."
