LYDIA WARKENTIN (nee PETERS) 1911 - 2001 On Wednesday, February 7, 2001, at Morden Hospital, Lydia Warkentin (nee Peters), age 89, of Morden, went to her eternal rest. She was predeceased by husband Rev. John H. Warkentin in 1994; sister Frieda Hildebrand; two brothers, Willie and Herb Peters. She leaves to mourn her passing daughter Elvira and Wiegand Friesen of Altona; four sons, Vern and Stella Miller of Edmonton, Alta., Herb and Micki Warkentin of Winnipeg, Ernie and Fritz Warkentin of Winnipeg, Erwin and Esther Warkentin of Winnipeg; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, twin sister Lena Neustaedter; brother Henry Peters of Steinbach and their families. Viewing will be Friday, February 9, 1:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden (1050 Thornhill St.), and at the church prior to the service. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 10, 2:00 p.m., Morden E.M.M. Church (610 1st St.), with Pastor Rick Neufeld and Pastor Todd Schlosser officiating. Interment will follow at Southside Cemetery, Morden. Donations may be made to M.C.C. Food Grains Bank, 134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, Man., R3T 5K9.
