ROSE CHANDLER (nee Jacklin) November 7, 1907 - February 7, 2001 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Rose Chandler with family by her side on February 7, 2001 at the age of 93 years. Rose will be lovingly remembered by her only daughter Enid Chandler of Winnipeg. Grandchildren, Clayton (Lisa) Malbranck of Alberta, Kimberly (Rick) Coad of Winnipeg, Brian (Cherie) Chandler of Winnipeg, and Lori (Rob) Hawley of Ontario, great grandchildren, Mark, Kelly, Jennifer, Ashley, Stephanie, Michael, Kyle, Veronica, Samantha and Daylon. She will also be remembered by many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Rose was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1968. She was predeceased by her parents Mary Ann and Thomas Jacklin, brothers and sisters William (Will), John (Jack), Fred, Maude, Lottie and Lillie. Rose was born and raised in Meadows, Manitoba where she talked fondly of the family farm. Rose met Walter and they married in 1936. Rose and Walter travelled to England and lived there briefly. Rose and Walter resided in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Winnipeg throughout their lives together. Rose was a great Mother and Grandmother, who was always there with open arms. Roses favourite past times included travelling, especially to Maui, Waikiki, and Germany. She loved meeting and being with people. Hobbies included dancing, music, television and her collection of drawings she drew from the age of 16 years old until the time she was hospitalized. She attended Oakview Place every Thursday for 15 years faithfully. Funeral service will be held on Monday February 12 at 2:00 pm in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Avenue with Major Vi Chaulk officiating. Special and heartfelt thanks go out to the staff of the Grace General Hospital for making her time there comfortable and enjoyable in the days and months she was there. Also thank you to all the visitors who visited her in the months of her lengthy illness.
