MARGARET MACHDANZ (nee DROZDOWSKI) 1929 - 2001 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Otto and son Stanley; parents, Stanislaw and Mary; and siblings, Mary, Mike and Joe. Mom will be loving remembered by her children, Brian Machdanz, Beverly Leatherdale (John), Dorene Hrynyk (Denis), Darlene Weir and Dale Machdanz. Grandchildren, Joey, Kim, Tara, Jodi (Greg), Scott (Shelley), Jaymie, Kelli (Dwayne), Shaun and Lora Anne. Great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Reme and Christian. Daughter-in-law Chris Machdanz, son-in-law Bryan Weir. Also surviving are her siblings, Wally Drozney (Mary), Andrew Drozdowski (Grace), sister Elizabeth McLaughlin and brother Anthony Drozdowski; countless nieces and nephews, close friends and neighbours. Mom was a very warm, kind and generous woman whose table had always room for more. Her family and husband were the number one priority in her life. Mom enjoyed nature and her flowers and vegetable garden which she shared the love of with her husband Otto. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed all sports, especially hockey. Mom was a caregiver to parents and extended family. She worked at Hudsons Bay for 25 years and retired at the age of 65. Margaret belonged to the Hudson Bay Retired Employees Auxiliary, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, Retired Eagles Auxiliary Club No. 3870 Pembina and was a founding member of the Trinity United Church. Due to declining health, Mom chose to enter the St. Norbert Nursing Home in the community where she was born in and remained their her entire life. Thanks Mom for your love, support and help through the years and all the wonderful memories of home. You were always there for us no matter what. Memories will keep you near. This is just so long until we meet again. Say hi to Dad and Stanley, God Bless you Mom, We Love You. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 12 at 3:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St., with Rev. Gary Clark officiating. A special thank to all who visited Mom during her stay at the Nursing Home, especially her friends, Olga, Gene, Nelli and Vicki. Thanks to the staff at the Nursing Home for their loving, compassionate care. Flowers are gratefully declined.
