He is survived by nine grandchildren, their spouses and great-grandchildren, Guy and Lorna Leakey (Jeff, Ryan and Brianne), Lori and Derrick Gunnlaugson (Ainsley, Jillian and Derek), Kelly and Ian McIntosh (Scott, Laura and Evan), Grant Leakey, Cheryl and Roland Isaak (Jennifer and Justin), Tracey and Jim Harvie (Dylan and Quinn), Craig and Tori Bates (Devon), Stacey and Dan Steinberg (Cooper) and Reagan Hossack. He is also survived by his nephew George Morrison of North Vancouver, BC; his brothers-in-law, Al Calvert, Art King and wife Grace; sisters-in-law, Ruth Gardiner, Dorothy Webb, Grace Taylor, Joyce King and several nieces and nephews. George was born in Winnipeg on February 19, 1916, the second child of George and Ada Hossack. George grew up and attended school in Winnipeg and in 1938, married Mary (Molly) King with whom he enjoyed 63 years of marriage. He was employed in Winnipeg with the American Railway (Midland) from 1933 until 1970 when he and Mary moved to Vancouver to care for Georges father after the passing of his mother. He then joined BC Hydro and retired in 1976. He and Mary moved back to Winnipeg in 1984 to be closer to their family and continue to enjoy their well-deserved retirement years. George was a kind, quiet, unassuming man with a genuine concern for his family and the well being of others. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and we will miss him immensely. Rest in peace Dad and Buba; well always love you. Many thanks to family physician Dr. M. Shnider, the staff at the Victoria Hospital (Elaine, Mike and Linda) and to Georges home care workers, Wes and Geoff. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hubert Marr, the nursing and support staff of the Riverview Health Care Centre for the wonderful care George received and for making his last days as comfortable as possible. The caring and compassion shown by everyone throughout Georges illness and Marys stay in hospital has helped our family through a difficult time and we are forever grateful.
