THOMAS C. ARNOLD Peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2001, Thomas passed away with his wife Dianne by his side at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Centre at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his wife Dianne of 38 years; sister Ida (Glenn) Hanna; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Thomas was predeceased by his brother Bill during the Second World War. Thomas started working with the CNR, enjoying many years of service as a conductor until his retirement. During the Second World War, Thomas worked with the army overseas. He enjoyed his retirement (since 1976) to the fullest spending summers at the cottage. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Inurnment will follow immediately after. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the reception centre of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thomass name, to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. A special thank you to all the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Centre for care and compassion given to Thomas and his family.
