MARTHA CHALMERS (nee BOMKE) On February 8, 2001 at Riverview Health Centre, after a short illness, Martha Chalmers, widow of James Alexander Chalmers. Surviving are two sons, John and wife Bonnie of Duncan, B.C., and Herb and wife Dolores of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Stephen (Margaret) Allan, Joan (Ed) and Ken Chalmers and Tom Cliff all of B.C., Dianna (John) Erwin and Derek (Sheryl) Chalmers of Winnipeg; three great-grandchildren, Steven and Kevin Chalmers of B.C. and Alexander Erwin of Winnipeg. Also surviving are two nieces, Aina Martinsons and family; Beruta Osins of Ontario. Martha was predeceased by four sisters. Martha lived in Elmwood since coming to Canada in 1930. She was employed by The Bay prior to her retirement in 1974. The family wishes to thank Dr. Oscar Domke for his years of dedicated service, Dr. D. Caners and the wonderful nursing staff of 3 East at Concordia Hospital, Dr. D. DeGroot, Dr. M. Garcia and the dedicated nursing staff of 3 East Riverview Health Centre. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 13 at 10:00 a.m. in Brookside Cemetery.
