Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBETTY (ELIZABETH) KNIGHT (nee SPARROW) Mrs. Betty Knight, passed away in her home, on Thursday, February 8, 2001. She was the youngest child of James and Johanna Sparrow and grew up on the family farm in Forrest, Manitoba. Betty married Bill Lawson in 1955 and raised four beautiful children. Her life would take her to Winnipeg where she met and was to later marry Jack Knight. They enjoyed life on a small farm acreage outside of Beausejour, Man. Here she enjoyed her gardening, sewing, knitting, preserving fruit and vegetables and raising many a family pet. Betty became a great baby-sitting service and she would become a favourite grandmother to her 6 grandchildren. They especially loved her wonderful toy collection and her beautiful doll display which was amassed through numerous yard and auction sales. Betty will be sadly missed by her brothers, Russell (Leone) Sparrow, Ed Sparrow and her sisters, Jo Pettigrew and Olive (Ken) Toovey; her children, Brenda (Richard) Kolner, Bob (Gale) Lawson, Brian (Gail) Lawson and Darlene (Lori) Gustafson. Her grandchildren, Dustin and Ashley Lawson, Christopher, Jordan and Eric Gustafson and Dylan Kolner will forever hold her in their hearts. She will truly be remembered by her husband Jack, who was there by her side to the end. Left with memories too, will be Heather and many nephews, nieces, friends and neighbours. Betty was predeceased by her parents, James and Johanna Sparrow and an infant child Kimberly Joy. Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, February 13, at Grace Lutheran Church, Beausejour, Man. If family and friends so desire, donations in Bettys memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man. R3C 2B7 or to the Beausejour Hospital, Beausejour, Man.
