Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLIVE RUTH NEILSON (nee Shuttleworth) September 25, 1908- February 9, 2001 It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mother on Friday, February 9 at the Golden West Centennial Lodge. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, Dr. Clive Neilson in 1957; her parents and her brother Ormond of Toronto. She is survived by her three daughters, Marion (Joe) Byrne of Kennewick, Washington, Margaret (Gary) Thomson of Winnipeg and Eleanor [Onny] (Harvey) Pachal of Birds Hill. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she was very proud. Mom was born in Bradwardine, Man., where she received her basic education. Following this, she received her Teachers Certificate at Brandon Normal School and taught school in the Miniota Municipal District School (Arrow River) for four years. She then went on to receive her training as a Registered Nurse at the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing, where upon graduating in 1933 she won the Gold Medal - C.S. Riley Medal for General Proficiency, and the A.M. McTavish Campbell Scholarship. According to Moms wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Humane Society or to a charity of your choice. We will all certainly miss you Mom. We love you. Please rest in peace.
