LUCY NEUMANN Lucy Neumann was with her daughter, Astrid Neumann and son-in-law Don Wood on the evening of February 9, 2001, when she peacefully passed over to a better place. Her daughters, Astrid and Carmen Neumann thank their mother for her gift to them of strength of character. Lucys creativity, independence and pride in all of her endeavours such as her home, her business and her garden reflected her need to create beauty and to be self-reliant. Lucys love of being able to be active outdoors found her on her bicycle or else on drives to the parks. As a young woman, she came to Canada from Poland with her mother and brother and worked very hard her entire life. It is now time to rest. The family gives thanks to the tremendous nursing staff of the 4 East Wing at Grace Hospital, the home care workers and nurse Lynn McGregor. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
