JOSEPH ANTHONY LOUIS BOESCH Mr. Joseph Anthony Louis Boesch, 57 years, of Nipigon, Ont., passed away Saturday, February 10, 2001 in the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital, Nipigon, Ont. Joe was born in Switzerland, immigrating to Canada in 1954. He has been a resident of Nipigon for 46 years and worked as a millwright for Multiply Plywoods for nearly 39 of those, starting at the age of 17. Joe played soccer for the Thunder Bay Juventus, was an avid bowler, enjoyed hockey and broomball, and pitched slo-pitch for the Rebels. He loved running and was proud of finishing the half marathon and competing in the Paju Mountain Run. His favourite hobby was playing "Pictionary" with his niece Connie. Joe took great pride in his family, especially his granddaughter Mercedes and felt fortunate to be a part of a large close-knit family. Predeceased by his parents, Karl and Hermina Boesch, by two brothers, Louis and Wendel and by one sister Margaret Lemieux; he is survived by his wife Vicky of Nipigon; by one son Anthony (& Cindy) and by two daughters, Corinne Boesch (& Chris) and Becky Boesch all of Nipigon; by one granddaughter Mercedes; by four brothers, Karl (& wife June) of Nanaimo, B.C., Herman and Oscar (& wife Barb) both of Nipigon, and Jacob (& wife Bridgette) of St. Gallen, Switzerland; by five sisters, Hermina (& husband Frank) Christen of Thunder Bay, Ont., Anna (& husband Gerd) Giessler of Heerbrugg, Switzerland, Ursula (& husband Tom) Preachuk of Winnipeg, Man., Rosemarie (& husband Bill) Harmon and Rita (& husband Jim) Dampier both of Nipigon; by sister-in-law Mary Boesch of Thunder Bay and brother-in-law Art Lemieux of Nipigon; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Resting at the Elliott Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon where friends may call from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation, Nipigon with Father W. Chochrek officiating. Interment will be in Cliffside Cemetery, Nipigon. Prayers will be offered at the Funeral Home on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital.
