JOHN SIDNEY (JACK) STEVENSON F.R.I., C.R.E. In his 94th year, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2001, surrounded by his family at the St. Boniface Hospital. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife Cecily of over 70 years in July, 2000. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Harry and Douglas, and his son-in-law Peter Burrows. He is survived by his children, David (Jean), Betty (Hal) Geraghty, Pat Burrows, Dick (Maria), Sally (Paul) Corby, Cathy (Michael) Sweeney; his sister Marjorie (Vancouver) and his sister-in-law Mary (Toronto). 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren will always cherish "Papas" memory. Jack was born and lived his entire life in Winnipeg, the city he loved. He commenced his work career in banking and soon joined S.S. Stevenson & Company Limited (Realtors), the firm founded by his father Sidney Septimus in 1901. He was Past President of the Winnipeg Real Estate Board, the Manitoba Real Estate Association and the Canadian Real Estate Association. He was also a founding member of the Real Estate Institute of Canada and a member of the American Society of Real Estate Counselors. Jack was a Life Member of the Manitoba Club, a long-standing member of the St. Charles Golf and Country Club and the Winnipeg Winter Club. Until his recent illness he was actively involved in his work and particularly enjoyed the fellowship of all his bridge friends. Jacks faith was very important to him and he was a fully active member of St. Georges Anglican Church, Crescentwood. Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His legacy will endure in each of our hearts. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of 5A South and the Palliative Care Team at the St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional care during Dads hospital stay. A memorial service to celebrate Jacks life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22 at St. Georges Anglican Church, Wilton and Grosvenor Ave. with the Rev. Canon J.A. Harwood-Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jacks memory to St. Georges Church Memorial Fund or the charity of your choice. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
