NORMAN JOHN ANDERSON Peacefully, after a short battle with cancer, Norman John (Jake) Anderson passed away at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB on February 10, 2001 at the age of 69. He was born on March 11, 1931 in Fairford, MB. On November 7, 1952 he married Lucy and together they shared 48 years of happiness. Dad worked very hard to raise his ten children. He will be fondly remembered for his love and devotion to his family and friends. He had a kind heart and a good sense of humour. In his early years, he worked hard to maintain his farm. He was most happy living off the land and working outdoors. His work involved farming, fishing, and carpentry. As a father and husband he made sure that we understood how important it was to hold good values and beliefs. He expressed his values through his wisdom, love, respect, honesty, integrity, and courage to his children and grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his wife Lucy; his ten children, Violet (George) Woodhouse, Brian (Lillian) Anderson, Ivan (Mary) Anderson, Russel Anderson, Dorothy Anderson, Annie Anderson, Sandra (Ken) Thompson, Pam (Cam) Lockwood, Marge Anderson, and Henrietta (Alex Pratt) Anderson; his 15 grandchildren, Myrna, Glen, Rose (Derek), Lindsay, Whitney, Ashley, Melissa, Curtis, Melanie, Gillian, Nadine, Olivia, Tamara, Nikita, and Ariel; six great-grandchildren, Jordon, Shane, Allyssa-Dale, Dustin, Jonah, and Georgia; his aunts, Harriet Anderson and Ida McLean; brother-in-law Albert Woodhouse; also his nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry George Anderson and Mary Anderson; his sisters, Martha, Irene and Dorothy. A wake service will be held on Tuesday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Little Saskatchewan Pentecostal Church. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 14 at 1:00 p.m. in the Little Saskatchewan Pentecostal Church with Rev. Wilfred Bruce officiating. Interment to follow in the Fairford Cemetery. Anderson, Ken Thompson, Cam Lockwood and Alex Pratt. Crossbearer will be Glen Anderson. Miss Me But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room; Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little but not too long; And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me -- but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone It is all part of the Masters plan A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, Go to the friends we know. And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me -- but let me go. Arrangements in care of: ARNASON FUNERAL HOMES LTD. ASHERN - LUNDAR (204) 768-2072
