Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Sitting here in Richmond BC on Friday night thinking of "Granny" as our mother Betsy is nearing 80 years and doing well with her new pacemaker. She's probably healthier than us all body and mind although she's slowed down a lot, my brothers and sisters don't understand how one can slow down at 79 but because I live and take care of mom, I'm the one who gets it, I understand. She's a beautiful person. "Granny" as we called Grandma Kenyon was also a very special person and looking back I think we can all learn from the path her and Grandpa took in their lives. I remember very well traveling on the train many times from Vancouver to Winnipeg as a young boy with mom (Betsy). Also Granny and Grandpa coming to Vancouver to visit us. Many good meals and lots of talking. I think I learned a lot while still very young by being around adults who were relating a lot of different stories. I always found it super interesting. We relate a funny thing today still ,a thing Granny used to say at dinner time.We younger kids would be just finishing our food and Granny would look across the table at us and maybe notice that we had a little left on our plate and suggest that we take a piece of bread and "clean that up". Looking back now as we re tell this story and all have a good laugh and seeing mom laugh just makes my heart feel warm and keeps those spirits alive and well as ever. I miss Dad (Chuck),Granny and Grandpa Kenyon and Lloyd so much, there was still so much to learn from them and one lifetime is not enough. - Posted by: Scott Siagris (Grandson) on: Sep 29, 2012
