RUSSELL SWAIN On, Sunday, February 11, 2001 at the Betel Home, Selkirk, Russell Swain, aged 87 years. He was predeceased by his wife Martha; son Lloyd; grandson David; brothers, Walter, Arthur, Ross and Stewart; and sisters, Lillian McDonald and Elva Coumont. Russell leaves surviving his brothers, Gordon and Calvin; sons, Lyall, Richard, Dennis, Garry; and his daughter-in-law Marg. Russell was born in Selkirk on December 15, 1913 to the late John and Flora Swain. He was a lifelong resident of East Lower Fort Garry, working at various jobs over the years. He worked at Fairfields Wollen Mils, CIL Powder Plant and at the Manitoba Rolling Mill. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at the St. Clements Cemetery in spring. The family would like to thank the Homecare, Betel Home and Selkirk General Hospital staff for the care shown to Russell. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
