His outgoing personality helped to make the many lasting friendships associated with his 45 year career with J.R. Watkins Co. which he was still active in. Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and all round handyman. Being a gifted and creative person he shared freely his talents with all. As his health began to fail he was no longer able to do those things which came so naturally to him. Harold and Alvenas home was always open to family and friends. Side by side they shared the joys and sorrows of everyday life. In the later years they enjoyed vacationing with relatives in Hawaii and Florida. Thanks and Blessings to the caring staff of St. Boniface Hospital, Dr. Vajcner and associates. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman at 11:00 a.m. with viewing prior to the service. Interment in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the church memorial fund. You fought the good fight. At the parting words.. "Keep your eyes on Jesus" We rejoice that when He saw you getting weak He took you by the hand and led you to your eternal home. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
