LYDIA WILLIAMS (RUDOLPH)
Date of Passing: Feb 12, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLYDIA WILLIAMS (RUDOLPH) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother on February 12, 2001 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 84 years. Lydia was predeceased by her husband Howard on January 10 of this year. The last surviving member of her family, Mom was also predeceased by her parents, Heinrich and Philippine (Sdintz) Rudolph, brother Bill, and sisters Elsie and Clara. She is survived by her sons, Ralph (Doreen) of Edmonton, Bruce (Maureen) of Lac du Bonnet; daughter Barbara of Winnipeg, and grandchildren, Katherine, Deborah, Nicole, Cheryl, and Michelle. She is also survived by two special nieces Marilyn Baron and Clarice Fitzpatrick and her very special life-long friend Esther Giannone. Mom was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother all her life and an extremely hard worker. She was hospitable and generous and friends and family always received a warm welcome in her home. Prior to her illness, Mom was an active member of Atlantic Garden City United Church and particularly enjoyed working at her groups rummage sales. The phrase "Dont throw that out - the church is having a rummage sale!" was often heard by family and friends. In the last year of her life, as Mom struggled with illness, we learned from her invaluable lessons of courage and determination and became aware of a wonderful sense of humour. Although she always tried to do as much for herself as she could, she accepted help from others with appreciation and dignity. The family would like to thank the VONs and home care workers who cared for Mom prior to her hospitalization and also the staff on A5 and the Palliative Care ward at St.Boniface General Hospital. Thanks also to the "Lunch Bunch" for their support and encouragement. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Lydias life will be held on Friday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Atlantic Garden City United Church, Atlantic and Arlington, with Rev. Wendy Rankin officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to honour Lydias memory may be made to the charity of ones choice. "Well always love you, Mom." "Enjoy your rest. Youve earned it. HOWARD KAY WILLIAMS A private family memorial service was held for Howard in the Chapel at St. Boniface General Hospital on January 18, 2001. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
