Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERONICA (VERA) STOREY On Tuesday, February 13, 2001, Vera Storey passed away peacefully in the presence of her family. Vera leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Diane (son-in-law Dr. Jim Stakiw) her son Syd (daughter-in-law Rita Jamieson) her sisters, Mae and Lucy. Vera was predeceased by her husband Earl in 1981. Vera was blessed with five grandchildren. Her granddaughters, Susan, Lesley, Jill and Laura were a big part of her life. Vera had one grandson Jarrett, whose accomplishments gave her pleasure. Her two grandchildren-in-law, Sean and Eden Jamieson, greatly enhanced Veras life. Vera was born in Winnipeg in 1918, one of four daughters to Jamesina and Patrick Harrington. Vera spent her entire life in Winnipeg. Vera worked at Sairs Pharmacy for 25 years. In 1974 Vera, Earl and Syd established Gourmet Coffee Service. The business was sold shortly after Earls death. Prior to her illness in 1996, in addition to volunteering at Health Sciences Centre, Vera helped Syd and Rita operate the Royal Dance Conservatory. Vera had her own clothing stand at the Forks Market, affectionately called the Tu-Tu Factory. Veras pride and joy was her wonderful relationship with her daughter-in-law Rita Jamieson and the many students of the Royal Dance Conservatory. Even in her sickness, she never missed a performance or a recital. Vera made everybody feel like a star. Vera gave her children, her family and her legion of friends unconditional love and respect. Vera made the world a better place for the people she met. Family and friends are gathering for a brief mass and a celebration of a wonderful life on Sunday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Club Room of the Hotel Fort Garry.
