KENNETH "KEN" HAROLD CROCKER It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ken Crocker, peacefully on February 11, 2001, in Lions Gate Hospital, N. Vancouver, while visiting family. Ken was predeceased by his loving wife Jean in 1995, his sister Gladys McDole and son-in-law Robert Welch in 1991. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Faye Welch, Lynn and husband Norm Loat; grandchildren, Kurt, Todd and Paul Welch and Jennifer and Allison Loat. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, Kim Culbert and Cletis McDole as well as nieces and nephews. Ken was born November 29, 1917, in Medora, Man., and grew up in Rossendale, Man. He and his wife Jean ran the General Store in Rossendale until his retirement when they moved to Portage la Prairie. He left retirement to return to work for Rogers Wholesale (Hudsons Bay Wholesale) until his true retirement at age 65. He enjoyed golf, curling, his yard and garden as well as his many friends and wonderful neighbours. In 2000 he moved to Selkirk with Lynn and Norm. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Church, 15 Tupper St., Portage la Prairie, on Friday, February 16 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date. The family considers all in attendance honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 353 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2H8.
