CHARLOTTE BLANCHE HALLS (nee Dutton) 1906 - 2001 Peacefully, on Tuesday, February 13, 2001, Charlotte passed away at The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. She is survived by her daughter Barbara and husband Douglas Cannell; grandson Drew, granddaughters, Janice and Andrea; great-granddaughter Brieland; and sister Eleanor Pretty of Vancouver. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband Philip; parents, Mae and William Dutton; and brothers, Everell, Bill and Spencer. Born and raised in Winnipeg, she attended Kelvin High School and St. Marys Academy. For many years Charlotte studied Art and her paintings have frequently been on display. Her fondness for flowers was particularly evident. She was a long time member of the Junior League of Winnipeg, an avid golfer at St. Charles Country Club and an ardent contract bridge player. Charlotte will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family and friends, her sense of humour, her strength and always portraying the epitome of a lady. "I shall remember you as beautiful and young, With many verses of your song unsung, I shall remember you with pleasure not pain, In countless memories that will remain, I shall not grieve that you have gone ahead, Prizing your joy for living, left to me instead." In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlottes name may be made to Winnserv Inc. 101-960 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, R3G 0R4.
