ZELLY ELIZABETH PEARCE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Zelly Elizabeth Pearce (nee Hammond), on February 15, 2001, at the Morden Hospital. Zelly was born February 25, 1922, to Elizabeth and Ernest Hammond and grew up in the Pilot Mound area. Zelly attended Normal School in Winnipeg and taught at Pearce School before she married Jim on March 8, 1945. They lived on their farm in the Pearce District until moving to Morden in 1967. Zelly worked at the Morden Land Titles office for 16 years, until her retirement in 1986. She was predeceased by her parents and by one infant daughter. She will be missed by her husband Jim; son Russell (Irene) daughter Sherry (Norm) Ardagh and her four grandchildren, Rhett and Carla Pearce, Chris (Bonnie) and Erin Ardagh. Zelly was a very loving, caring and generous person. She loved to quilt and do crafts. She was an active member of the Royal Purple and many other community groups. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. Funeral service will be held (today) Saturday, February 17 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Penhale officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in the Darlingford Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, relatives and friends who helped Zelly and her family during her short illness. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Doyles Funeral Chapel of Morden in care of arrangements.
